PRINCIPLES OF PRAYER Prayer was never intended to work by trial and error, but was intended to be the blueprint for success in every area of your life. By understanding the various kinds of prayer and the principles that govern them, you will be able to take hold of the life of victory and success that God intended.

What’s the Bible Study topic? Topics vary; this year we are studying, “Principles of Prayer.” Eph. 6:18, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with ALL KINDS OF PRAYERS and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” Did you know that most people lump all prayer together as if all prayer is the same. But the Bible teaches that there are different kinds of prayers. Here’s a list of the many different Kinds of Prayer found in the New Testament that we are currently studying: Prayer of Faith; Prayer of Agreement; Prayer of Thanksgiving; Prayer of Worship; Prayer of Submission; Prayer of Committal; Prayer of Consecration & Dedication; United Prayer; Conversational Prayer; Praying in the Spirit; Prayer of Binding & Loosing; Prayer of Intercession; and more. If we want our prayers to be effective and if we want to live victoriously in these last days, then, we need to learn how to pray according to God’s Word. So, If your prayer life needs a boost, I want to encourage you to join us each week and begin learning what the Bible says about the different kinds of prayer God has given us in His Word.

Who is your teacher? Our Lead Pastor (CommunityGospelChurch1.com), Dr. Richard Martinez. He’s the founder and director of the NJ District School of Ministry (NJDSOM.org). Former director of Christian Education and Small Groups at Calvary Temple, Wayne, NJ, as well as the former Dean and Instructor at the LOJ Bible Academy, Orange, NJ. He also taught as an adjunct professor at Nyack College. He is passionate about making disciples and leading others into a deeper and fresh experience in Christ.
What is his education level? He holds a Masters degree in Theology from Seton Hall University (S. Orange, NJ) and a 2nd Masters degree in New Testament Literature from the Alliance Theological Seminary (Nyack College) as well as a Doctorate of Ministry from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, Springfield, MO.
What should I bring to Bible Study? Your Bible, a Pen, and something to write on. What’s the atmosphere like? Relaxed, friendly, casual, and if you like coffee houses or coffee shops, this is it! Just imagine sitting in a coffee shop and studying the Bible!
Will there be food & beverages? Yes, we serve free coffee/teas (some of which is donated from Starbucks) and fresh bagels from a local bakery at every Bible Study.
Can anyone attend? Yes, just come with a willing heart and mind to learn, and be ready for a one-hour Scripture-packed, dynamic Bible Study. We have people from different churches attending weekly.
Is there childcare? Yes, the nursery will be open and attended by Dr. Rich’s wife, Marie.
What if I miss a session? Not a problem, you can catch up by listening to Dr. Rich’s free weekly podcast online. Just download the free app, called, “SoundCloud,” from the “App Store” or “Google Play,” depending on your device. After you down load the app, type in the words, “Community Gospel Church,” and that will give you access to all of Dr. Rich’s messages.
